Today I would like to discuss the importance in handwashing. Did you know that washing your hands is more important than most of the varies day to day activities that we do as humans? Imagine if we lived in a world in where no one washed their hands every day. When we refuse to wash our hands bacteria and germs begin to spread on surfaces that we touch, this could be our faces, eyes, phones, car steering wheel, doorknobs, table tops and so on. Studies show that bacteria spreads instantaneously from surface to surface, and so when we do not wash our hands we aid in the spreading of germs in which can cause sickness and spread disease. Studies shown by The National Foundation for Infectious Disease that almost 50% of US adults admitted to forgetting to wash their hands after visiting places like the grocery store, the mall, or the doctors. Most of these US adults shared that they found hand washing after leaving such places as unnecessary. I am writing this article because I believe that frequent hand washing is not unnecessary and I would like to encourage anyone reading this article to practice washing their hands regularly. If we want to live in a cleaner environment than it starts with us first. We must remember that before we start scrubbing base boards, vacuuming, and wiping down surfaces, it is useless if the vessel in which we do these things are filled with germs and bacteria.
